Corydoras pygmaeus
The Pygmy Corydoras is a delightful miniature catfish that will instantly steal your heart. Unlike standard corydoras that spend all their time sifting through sand on the bottom, the Pygmy Cory loves to hover and school in the middle of the water column, frequently resting on broad plant leaves. Maxing out at just over an inch, they are completely peaceful and are considered 100% shrimp-safe. They possess a silvery body marked with a distinct black horizontal stripe from snout to tail. To see their natural, synchronized hovering behavior, they must be kept in groups of at least 6. Soft, sandy substrate is recommended to protect their delicate barbels (whiskers).
